Drummer BRIAN TICHY To Perform With AEROSMITH's TYLER, PERRY At STUART HOUSE Benefit
March 5, 2013Brian Thomas Tichy — former drummer for WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER, BILLY IDOL, OZZY OSBOURNE and now guitarist for S.U.N. — received an unexpected call last week from none other than Steven Tyler, who requested Tichy to play drums with the AEROSMITH singer and the band's guitarist, Joe Perry, on March 10 at the tenth annual Stuart House benefit hosted by John Varvatos.
Tichy said: "Getting a call like that is very surreal. You are engaged in a conversation with someone you have always put in your top 10 lists of most influential, best singers, and singer of coolest bands.
"As a little kid, I literally learned how to play drums by playing along to AEROSMITH's 'Live Bootleg', 'Rocks', 'Toys In The Attic', 'Draw The Line' and others! I told him how important he and AEROSMITH were to me growing up.
"This is a total honor! I played drums on Steven's 2011 single, 'Feels So Good'. He watched me track the drums through the control room window. Two takes later, I was done. He was totally cool. I am glad that session went well as that is why he thought of me for this."
S.U.N.'s record, "Something Unto Nothing", with Sass Jordan on vocals, is currently available now on iTunes and Amazon as well as SomethingUntoNothing.com.
